Privacy policy
CVLoom stores the resume content you create or import so you can edit and download it. That content stays on our server and is shown only to the browser that made it. Nothing else about you is collected.
What we store
- Your resume documents: the text and layout you enter or import.
- A functional session cookie holding a random identifier, so your browser can find its own resumes. No tracking or advertising cookies, no analytics scripts.
- Persona documents, sealed as described on the Persona page, until you close them.
Where it lives
On one server rented from Hetzner in Germany, run by CVLoom's owner, a sole proprietor in India. Your data does not pass through a content delivery network; the domain's DNS is on Cloudflare but traffic goes straight to that server over HTTPS.
What the checker keeps
A resume you upload to the ATS checker or the job-match tool is read into memory, scored, and discarded when the request finishes. No copy is written to disk.
AI features and who sees your text
Some features send text to an AI provider, Google Gemini, through its API: importing a PDF or Word file, building a resume from what you say on the Speak page, the checker's deep scan, the cover letter writer, the LinkedIn, Naukri and Indeed profile makers, and answering a recruiter's question on a Persona. Each is one request, processed under Google's API terms, not used by us for anything else, and capped at five AI runs a day for each visitor. The 30-rule check itself uses no AI.
If you would rather send nothing to an AI provider, use the bring-your-own-AI path on the import page: copy our prompt into ChatGPT or any assistant you already trust, paste the result back, and we parse it on our server without calling any provider.
How long we keep it
Resumes you build stay until you delete them; there is no automatic expiry. Persona documents sleep after a period of silence and can be closed at any time from your dashboard.
Shared computers
Your resumes are tied to the cookie in the browser you used. On a shared or public machine, delete them from your documents page before you leave; the next person at that browser would otherwise see them.
Deletion
Deleting a resume in the app removes it from our database immediately. To remove everything tied to your browser, contact us and we will delete it.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, show ads, run trackers, or share your resumes with anyone.
