About CVLoom

Why it exists

Applying for jobs is already expensive in time and nerve. Somewhere along the way, the tools meant to help started charging for the last step — you write the whole resume, you see the score, and then the download button asks for a card. Meanwhile the score itself is a mystery number from a method nobody publishes.

CVLoom was built to remove both problems. Every template exports a clean, selectable-text PDF with no watermark and no payment step, and the checker's entire rule set is published in full — all 30 rules, each with why parsers break on it and how to fix it. If a rule looks wrong to you, you can argue with it. That's the point.

The three rules it's built around

• Nothing hidden. The scoring rules are public, the limits are stated plainly, and how it stays free is answered outright rather than left for you to wonder about.
• Nothing kept that needn't be. Resumes uploaded to the checker are analyzed in memory and discarded. Resumes you build are saved so you can edit them, visible only to you, deletable in one click.
• Nothing degraded on purpose. No watermark, no export paywall, no crippled free tier designed to make you upgrade. The free version is the whole product.

Who it's for

Anyone applying for work, but the catalogue leans deliberately toward people the big builders under-serve: engineering freshers and campus-placement candidates, students hunting their first internship, and roles outside tech — teachers, operations and supply-chain staff, bank tellers, administrators, translators — alongside the usual software-engineering and marketing formats. There are 585+ templates (283 at last count), and every ATS-certified one is tested against the same 30 rules before it ships.

How it's built

Resumes are stored as structured content, kept separate from their design — which is why switching templates re-flows the same words losslessly instead of making you retype them. PDFs are produced by a real browser engine, so the file you download has true selectable text, embedded fonts, and clickable links, rather than a picture of a resume. The checker runs the same extraction path an applicant tracking system would, which is how it can tell you what a parser will actually see.

Who builds it

CVLoom is built and run by Pankaj Prajapat, a software engineer in India, with a small team of interns joining in September 2026. It runs on a single server in Germany (Hetzner), pays for itself out of pocket, and has no investors, no ads and no paid tier. Every rule the checker applies is published, every template score is measured from the exported PDF, and every change ships to the same site you are reading.
