What is an ATS, and why does my resume need to pass it?
An Applicant Tracking System is the software most companies use to receive and filter applications. If its parser can't read your resume — because of images, columns, or odd formatting — a human may never see it, no matter how qualified you are. In 2026 most shortlists are AI-assisted, which makes machine-readability matter even more.
Is this checker really free? What's the catch?
All 30 checks, the full report, and the AI deep scan (role fit, missing skills, bullet rewrites, spelling) are free — the parts other checkers lock behind 'Unlock full evaluation' or PRO plans. AI scans share your 5 free AI runs per day; the 30-check score is unlimited. The 'catch' is that we hope you'll like the report enough to rebuild your resume in our free editor.
Do you store my resume?
No. Your PDF is analyzed in memory and discarded — nothing is saved unless you explicitly click to rebuild it in the CVLoom editor.
What score do I need?
85+ is interview-ready. 70–84 means the content is fine but flagged issues are costing you. Below 50 usually means parsers are misreading the file itself — fix parseability first, everything else second.
Can I check candidates' resumes as a recruiter or HR team?
Yes — the checker works the same on any resume, and many HR folks use it for a consistent first screen. For bulk scoring of a candidate pool, email contact@cvloom.com and we'll set you up.
Hiring? Screen a pool of resumes consistently
The same 30 checks give every candidate an identical, unbiased first screen. For bulk scoring of a candidate pool, write to contact@cvloom.com — we'll set you up.
