S278 is a statutory process every UK highways reader recognises on sight, and 'zero reportable incidents' is the site-safety line that survives a reference check. Design office plus muddy boots is the profile consultancies shortlist.

Design judgement measured in concrete and programme — the two currencies a project director trades in. Citing Eurocode 2 shows the saving came from engineering, not corner-cutting.

Making it yours
- Put your chartership status where this CV puts CEng MICE — after your name and in certifications. Still working towards it? 'IEng, professional review scheduled 2027' also clears the filter (US readers: this is your PE/EIT line).
- Quote scheme values and framework names in pounds — £6m across four frameworks here. Consultancies size candidates by the value of works they've touched, so give the figure, never 'large schemes'.
- Name the statutory processes you've run — S278/S38, SuDS approval, flood-risk assessments — and the design software exactly (Civil 3D, MicroDrainage); both are search terms in UK infrastructure recruitment.
- Keep one site bullet with a safety outcome, like the zero-reportable-incidents line here — CDM 2015 duties and a clean record read louder to a UK employer than any software list.
