Barista resume example
This is the rendered output of our Barista · Sunny template — a real three-year coffee career, not a stock screenshot. The page stays warm to look at yet parses clean, and it scores 96/100 against our 30 published ATS rules. Here is why each bullet lands with a cafe owner hiring for the morning rush.
Measured by exporting this exact resume and running it through the 30 rules we publish. Certified: we only badge templates at 90 or above, a stricter bar than the 85 our checker calls interview-ready, so the design leaves headroom for your own content.

Why these bullets work
Every line below is taken verbatim from the resume above.
“Pull 250 drinks a shift on a two-group machine while keeping ticket waits under four minutes through the morning rush”
Cafe owners staff the morning line on throughput. Drinks per shift plus a ticket-time ceiling says this person will not melt at 8 a.m. — the single biggest fear when hiring an unknown barista.
“Lifted pastry attach rate 18% in one quarter by suggesting food pairings on every register order through the morning line”
An attach-rate lift is a revenue claim, and revenue claims are rare below management. This is the bullet that separates a barista from a cashier who happens to make coffee.
“Dial in two espresso blends daily by taste and shot timing, and train 4 new hires on milk texturing and latte art”
Dialing in daily is the craft signal specialty shops screen for — it means no wasted beans and no retraining. The training half says new hires can be put next to her, which is worth more than any certificate.
“Balanced a $2,000 till and closed the shop solo three nights a week, including full cleaning and restock checklists”
Keys, cash, and closing checklists are trust made concrete. For an hourly hire, evidence you were left alone with the till answers the question every owner is silently asking.
Making it yours
- Count your volume: drinks per shift, customers per rush, ticket-time targets — owners staff the morning line on exactly these numbers.
- Name your equipment and methods (two-group espresso machine, pour-over, batch brew, grinder calibration) so the reader knows you can work their bar on day one.
- Swap in your state's food handler card or any barista certification — at most shops it is a literal checkbox screen.
- If you sold anything, show the lift the way this example's 18% pastry attach rate does; a revenue line is what earns shift-lead money.
Common questions
What does a good barista resume look like with little experience?
Like this one — even a counter job yields real numbers: customers served per rush, order accuracy, a till balanced solo. Shops hire speed and reliability, and both can be evidenced from any service job you have held.
Do baristas really need a resume?
At the shops worth working for, yes. A one-page resume with volume numbers and a food handler card is often the only one in the stack that has either — which is exactly the point.
