Photographer resume example
A working photographer’s one-pager — the exact document our Frame template produces, scored against our 30 published ATS rules. It leads with what corporate and editorial buyers check first: how fast the selects arrive and whether clients renew.
Measured by exporting this exact resume and running it through the 30 rules we publish. That is inside the interview-ready band our checker uses (85+). We simply reserve the certified badge for 90 and above, so this is a strong template that misses a deliberately strict bar — not a weak one.

The live document, not a screenshot. Names and employers are fictional.
Why these bullets work
Every line below is taken verbatim from the resume above.
“Shoot 120 to 140 commercial days a year: product, food and lifestyle for 40 brands and 6 agencies”
Commercial buyers hire capacity. Days a year, categories and client counts are the units they think in.
“Lead photographer on a 900-SKU e-commerce catalogue delivered in 12 weeks with a 0.4% reshoot rate”
A catalogue of that size with a reshoot rate under half a percent is a production statement, not a portfolio one.
“Won 4 retained clients worth £180,000 a year through test shoots and treatment decks”
Retainers are the difference between a photographer and a studio business; the pound figure makes the point without saying it.
“Deliver retouched selects within 5 working days on 98% of jobs”
A turnaround with a hit rate is more persuasive than 'fast turnaround' because it admits the 2%.
Making it yours
- Lead with your delivery window — 48 hours, five days, whatever you truly keep — and make every role bullet answer ‘how much, how fast.’
- Name renewals and retained clients wherever you can; buyers weigh them above awards.
- Keep the software list to tools you would demo on a call.
- If your work has been published or licensed, say where — one title beats ‘featured in various publications.’
Common questions
Portfolio or resume — which matters more for photographers?
The portfolio wins taste; the resume wins trust. Corporate clients, agencies and NGOs route hiring through someone who files documents — that person compares delivery windows and renewal rates, not bokeh.
