Tutor resume example
Tutoring resumes are read by parents and coaching-centre owners more often than by software, so this one leads with proof a parent can verify. It is the document our Tutor · Timetable template produces — index-tab headings, plus a Batches & Timings section that doubles as your flyer — and it scores 97/100 on our 30 published rules, interview-ready band.
Measured by exporting this exact resume and running it through the 30 rules we publish. Certified: we only badge templates at 90 or above, a stricter bar than the 85 our checker calls interview-ready, so the design leaves headroom for your own content.

Why these bullets work
Every line below is taken verbatim from the resume above.
“Tutor 30 to 35 students a week in algebra, geometry, precalculus, AP Calculus, chemistry and physics, one-to-one and in groups of 4”
Load, subject range and format. A parent or a centre owner sees the schedule and the breadth at once.
“Students improve 1.3 letter grades on average within a semester; 92% of AP students scored 4 or 5 in 2025”
An average across students, not a best case, plus an AP pass rate. Tutors who track outcomes are rare enough to stand out.
“Coached 41 students through SAT and ACT math to first-choice admissions; average SAT math gain 110 points”
College outcomes with a point gain. It answers the question parents actually have.
“Run a referral-only waitlist since 2022; 85% of new students come from current families”
A waitlist is demand made visible. The referral share tells the reader the last families were satisfied.
Making it yours
- State subjects and grade range in the title line — parents search that way.
- Give results per batch, not overall: 'all 24 cleared' beats 'many students improved'.
- If you tutor independently, put 'Self-employed' as the workplace rather than leaving it blank.
- Mention how you report progress to parents; it is a differentiator almost no tutor writes down.
Common questions
Do tutors need an ATS-friendly resume?
Usually less than office roles — most tutoring work is won through parents, centres and referrals. But coaching chains and edtech companies do run software screening, so this template stays parseable while still looking personal.
