B.Com fresher resume format
Bachelor of Commerce
A B.Com opens the accounts, audit, tax and banking desks, and every one of those recruiters scans for the same four things: Tally, GST, Excel and an internship where you posted real entries. This format puts them where the eye lands, with a filled sample you can edit line by line.

Jobs a B.Com fresher applies for
What to write when you have no job yet
A fresher resume is not empty; it is built from different material. For a B.Com, the material is this, each line with a number:
- ✓An accounts internship at a CA firm or a distributor, even four weeks, with the volume you handled: entries a day, returns filed, accounts reconciled.
- ✓Tally Prime or Zoho Books work for a family business or a shop; setting up ledgers and closing a month counts.
- ✓A final-year project with a number in it: a GST study, a cost analysis, a working-capital comparison.
- ✓College treasurer, fest accounts, an NSS or tax-camp volunteer role where you handled money or records.
Skills, with the proof that makes each one credible
A skill you cannot defend in the interview is worse than one you leave off. Each of these is listed with what proves it.
- Tally Prime
- Name the version and what you did in it: vouchers posted, GST configured, a month closed.
- GST returns
- GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B by name, with how many clients or months you filed for.
- Bank reconciliation
- Accounts reconciled and the transaction count; say the difference was zero.
- MS Excel
- VLOOKUP, pivot tables and one sheet you built that someone still uses.
- TDS and Form 26AS
- Entries matched per quarter; the CA's review is the evidence.
- Debtor and creditor ageing
- A weekly report you prepared and what it flagged.
The Indian details other builders skip
Marksheets, objectives, the declaration block, the credential a shortlist is actually built on. For a B.Com:
- CGPA or percentage
- Commerce recruiters read percentage, so print it: "B.Com, 78.2%". If your university publishes CGPA, write both: "CGPA 7.8/10 (78%)". Anything above 60% goes on the page; below that, lead with the internship and let the education line be quiet.
- The career objective
- “B.Com graduate with two accounts internships and 400 hours in Tally Prime, seeking an accounts assistant role where GST filing and reconciliation are done to the rupee.”
- The credential that gates the shortlist
- There is no licence to print, so the certificate that stands in for one is Tally with GST from Tally Education, or an NIIT or Coursera Excel certificate. Put it in a Certifications section with the year. A CA Foundation or Inter pass, even a group, goes in Education directly under the degree.
- What to leave off
- Leave off father's name, date of birth, marital status, religion, caste, nationality and a photo unless the posting asks for one. None of it helps a shortlist and some of it invites bias. Drop the declaration block and the signature line too: a PDF sent from your own email is already yours. Keep the page to name, phone, email, city and one link.
- Campus drive or off-campus
- For a campus drive, lead with the degree, marks and projects; the recruiter is comparing you to classmates and reads the page in twenty seconds. For an off-campus or Naukri application, move the internship and the role-specific skills up, match the posting's words, and set your Naukri headline to the role you want, not the degree you hold. The free Naukri profile maker writes that headline from this resume.

Common questions
Is one page enough for a B.Com fresher resume?
Yes. Two internships, a project and grouped skills fit on one page in this format, and accounts recruiters shortlist from one page. Go to a second page only after two years of work.
Should I write a career objective?
For campus placements and bank clerk applications, yes, two lines at most and specific to the desk you want. For an off-campus application to a CA firm, a summary with numbers does the same job better. The sample shows the summary form; the objective line above shows the other.
I have no internship. What goes in the experience section?
Rename it "Training and Projects". Put your Tally course project, any bookkeeping you did for a family business, and the college treasurer or fest accounts role, each with a number: entries posted, a budget managed, a month closed.
