BA fresher resume format
Bachelor of Arts
A BA is the most flexible degree on the market and the hardest to write a resume for, because the subject rarely names the job. Content, customer support, HR, teaching, recruitment and sales all hire BA freshers, and each wants the same proof: a role with a number, a project with a result, and skills matched to the posting. This format does that without pretending the subject is the point.

What to write when you have no job yet
A fresher resume is not empty; it is built from different material. For a BA, the material is this, each line with a number:
- ✓Any internship with an output: articles published, calls handled, candidates screened.
- ✓College roles with counts: society secretary, magazine editor, fest coordinator.
- ✓Tutoring or teaching with students and results.
- ✓Volunteering with a number: people served, events run, funds raised.
Skills, with the proof that makes each one credible
A skill you cannot defend in the interview is worse than one you leave off. Each of these is listed with what proves it.
- Writing
- Pieces published and where; a page or campaign someone used.
- Communication
- Presentations, calls a day, or sessions taught.
- Research
- A project with sources, a finding and a number.
- Languages
- Every language you can work in, with the level.
- Tools
- Word, Excel, Google Workspace, Canva, and any CRM or CMS you used.
The Indian details other builders skip
Marksheets, objectives, the declaration block, the credential a shortlist is actually built on. For a BA:
- CGPA or percentage
- Most universities report BA in percentage; print it: "BA English (Hons), 78%". Government and bank exams filter at 50% to 60%; private employers rarely look. Class XII beneath.
- The career objective
- “BA English graduate with a content internship of 60 published articles and two years of tutoring, seeking a content writer or customer support role.”
- The credential that gates the shortlist
- Role-specific and short: a content marketing certificate for writing roles, a TET pass for teaching, an HR or Excel certificate for admin roles. One or two, with years.
- What to leave off
- Leave off father's name, date of birth, marital status, religion, caste, nationality and a photo unless the posting asks for one. None of it helps a shortlist and some of it invites bias. Drop the declaration block and the signature line too: a PDF sent from your own email is already yours. Keep the page to name, phone, email, city and one link.
- Campus drive or off-campus
- For a campus drive, lead with the degree, marks and projects; the recruiter is comparing you to classmates and reads the page in twenty seconds. For an off-campus or Naukri application, move the internship and the role-specific skills up, match the posting's words, and set your Naukri headline to the role you want, not the degree you hold. The free Naukri profile maker writes that headline from this resume.

Common questions
Should a BA resume mention the subject in the header?
Yes, with the direction: "BA English Graduate | Content and Communication". The subject alone does not name a job; the direction does.
Is a career objective expected for BA freshers?
For government and campus applications, one specific line. For private employers, a summary with numbers works better. The sample uses the summary; the objective line above shows the other.
