Electrical engineering fresher resume format

B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Electrical freshers are hired for power, automation or maintenance, and each reads a different line first: a substation training, a PLC you commissioned, a breakdown you fixed. This format keeps all three on the page with counts, and puts the state supervisor licence where the reader looks for it.

What to write when you have no job yet

A fresher resume is not empty; it is built from different material. For a B.Tech Electrical, the material is this, each line with a number:

  • A substation or plant training with the equipment tested and the shutdown you supported.
  • An automation internship with the PLC model, the machines controlled and the commissioning date.
  • A panel or wiring project with the drawings you produced.
  • The final-year project with a measured saving: water, power, downtime.

Skills, with the proof that makes each one credible

A skill you cannot defend in the interview is worse than one you leave off. Each of these is listed with what proves it.

PLC and SCADA
The PLC family, the ladder logic you wrote and the line it controls.
Power system analysis
ETAP or MATLAB with a feeder or load-flow study and its finding.
Electrical machines and protection
Transformers, motors or relays you tested, counted.
AutoCAD Electrical
Panel drawings released to a workshop, counted.
Safety
Lockout and tagout, permit to work, and the supervisor licence with its state.

The Indian details other builders skip

Marksheets, objectives, the declaration block, the credential a shortlist is actually built on. For a B.Tech Electrical:

CGPA or percentage
Print CGPA: "B.Tech Electrical Engineering, CGPA 8.2/10". State electricity boards and PSUs read GATE EE and set cut-offs; add the GATE score if you have it. Class XII percentage beneath.
The career objective
“B.Tech Electrical graduate with an automation internship that commissioned a 12-motor PLC panel and a 220 kV substation training, holding the state electrical supervisor licence, seeking a graduate engineer trainee role in automation or maintenance.”
The credential that gates the shortlist
The state electrical supervisor licence is the one credential that changes a shortlist for maintenance and site roles; print it in Certifications with the state and year. A PLC and SCADA course certificate is the automation equivalent.
What to leave off
Leave off father's name, date of birth, marital status, religion, caste, nationality and a photo unless the posting asks for one. None of it helps a shortlist and some of it invites bias. Drop the declaration block and the signature line too: a PDF sent from your own email is already yours. Keep the page to name, phone, email, city and one link.
Campus drive or off-campus
For a campus drive, lead with the degree, marks and projects; the recruiter is comparing you to classmates and reads the page in twenty seconds. For an off-campus or Naukri application, move the internship and the role-specific skills up, match the posting's words, and set your Naukri headline to the role you want, not the degree you hold. The free Naukri profile maker writes that headline from this resume.

Common questions

Should I apply for software roles as an EEE graduate?

You can, with projects to show. Most EEE freshers get better first offers in automation and maintenance, where the degree itself is the filter and competition is thinner.

Is an apprenticeship worth listing?

Yes, as experience with the equipment and counts. A year of NATS apprenticeship is read as a first job by core companies.
